Chemotherapy for cancer means I produce almost no saliva.
Unfortunately, seemingly a symptom of my age, my jaw tends to relax and open during sleep, such that I wake in the night with a mouth that is totally dry inside. As I understand it, this is bad news for both the health of mouth lining tissue and for the "remineralisation" of dental surfaces, i.e. recovery from acid attack during the day.
Fortunately I have found that use of this Anti-Snoring Chin Strap gently keeps my mouth closed and deals with the problem. I tried other brands too but this was the best.
I use it with the entire strap in FRONT of my ears.
(Use of a Xylimelt tab during the night completes my control system.)

This product holds my mouth shut which enables me to breathe through my nose while sleeping, meaning that I wake up with minimal nasal/sinus congestion, setting me up for a day of productive nose breathing. Took a couple nights to figure out the best way to wear the strap according to my head shape, it still slips off sometimes but overall a great product. Living through years of nasal congestion, I thought I would never be able to be a consistent nose breather until I found this product.

I felt this product helped to stop my snoring however I have developed an itchy rash on my face from wearing the strap for 4 nights.

The fabric on the chin strap is too itchy. It needs to be something soft and smooth. Not netting. I have already replaced it.

It's only one strap, so it slides around on my head. If I do it up tightly so it doesn't slip, then my jaw, skull, teeth, and ears hurt. If I make it just tight enough so it's comfortable, then my ears don't fit into the slots and it slides off my skull. I find the ear slots REALLY uncomfortable no matter how tight or loose, and the liner on the chin strap irritates my skin, so I wore it inside out. Very sad. :-(
